Position Summary

The Lead Director, Payer Relations Administration provides administration oversight and strategy support for payer relations (PR) team. Develops and implements network strategies and reporting aimed at providing information relevant to the contracting process, and PR status updates to key leadership. As a critical member of the Payer Relations team this Lead Director plays a vital role in creating and executing strategies to address payer and industry requirements and needs. An ideal candidate exhibits an intellectual curiosity to understand the dynamics shaping the healthcare industry, the tenacity to address complex business problems, and skills to indirectly influence cross-functional teams.

This role is central to aligning and influencing wide-ranging stakeholders across the enterprise. They work cross functionally with IT, Finance, Analytics, Payer Relations, RxOps, and RxGrowth to develop and execute strategic solutions to achieve enterprise goals. This role is responsible for leading the creation of reporting and measurement solutions to monitor KPIs (financial, operational, etc.) performance of retail pharmacy networks, products, and service initiatives. This role develops and maintains the toolkit that consolidates information used during the contracting process, including CRM (Salesforce), CLM (Ariba), profitability (Foundry), and business intelligence (dashboards, market share, and other datasets pertinent to the negotiations team).

The ability to develop/track performance measurements and financial acumen are critical qualities in this role.

This position can be located anywhere in the U.S. with the ability to work remotely and travel to a CVS Corporate Hub based upon business needs. This role will require occasional travel (i.e., 4-6 business trips annually).

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years demonstrating financial acumen and ability to drive outcomes while tracking and monitoring budget goals and financial targets
  • 8+ years influencing and engaging stakeholders with diverse backgrounds and expertise
  • 8+ years developing executive level materials that distill complex subjects into easily digestible insights
  • 8+ year developing KPIs to track and monitor new initiatives and programs to ensure operational excellence and achievement of financial goals
  • 8+ years using Microsoft Office Suite of products, with an emphasis on PowerPoint, Think Cell and Excel
  • Deep understanding of healthcare including retail pharmacy, PBMs, and value-based care
  • Working knowledge and expertise in the usage of internal tools - Sales Force, Tableau, and Foundry
  • Demonstrated success solving complex problems, developing action plans, and executing on those solutions
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills, including active listening, self-management and awareness, emotional intelligence, and ability to flex interpersonal style

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years writing SQL and other coding languages (SAS, etc.) to develop data queries and conduct analyses
  • 5+ years using visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g., Tableau, PowerBi, MicroStrategy, etc.)
  • 8+ years driving growth strategies in a healthcare management or consulting roles
  • Experience working with a geographically diverse team of hybrid and remote colleagues

Education

Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience required

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$82,940.00 - $231,540.00


This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.  This position also includes an award ta
