What you Will Do:
The Real-Time Embedded Systems discipline within CDS is responsible for the foundational software layer that abstracts the hardware and manages the resources for engine control and prognostic and health management applications for P&W. The specific applications for this position are small military engines such as auxiliary power units and missile turbo-jets. The Real-Time Embedded Systems discipline has an opening for an engineer with strong technical and leadership skills and demonstrated capability in the following areas:
- Solid experience with C/C++ in an embedded development environment. Understanding software build processes, multiple compiler and linker configurations, library linking.
Ability to utilize software debugger tools to aid in analysis and debugging of embedded software.
Familiar with usage of electronic diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, programmable function generators, multimeters, etc.) and troubleshooting in a lab or test cell environment
Understanding of formal software development processes (DO-178B/C). Usage of Configuration Management tools.
Proven experience in control system software architecture, requirements, and design
Job responsibilities:
Support the Embedded Software team to meet program deliverables
Lead the software development effort for APUs and TJs
Present as needed to the Component Integration Product Team Leader (CIPTL)
Work with the technical team to resolve software defects and champion root cause investigations
Support technical, schedule, cost discussions with the CIPTL
Identify key process improvements to increase efficiency
