Position Overview

As the Sr. Manager of Quality Assurance (QA) for Payments Technology, you will be a thought leader and strategic partner who will help drive quality into our engineering teams, our processes, and our results.  You will play a pivotal role in transforming our processes to ensure our applications can scale to meet the demands of our rapidly growing $1 billion business.  You will make decisions on the tooling and processes necessary to drive efficiency and performance optimization.  In this role, you will manage our QA Managers, ensuring they are not only executing deliverables but also leading a shift-left mentality within the engineering teams.  You will be responsible for all aspects of ensuring quality, from functional to non-functional requirements, system scalability and performance, to security and regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Do

Strategic Leadership and Planning:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive QA strategy that aligns with the organization’s objectives.

• Define and drive quality metrics, KPIs, and benchmarks to measure product and process quality.

• Integrate testing earlier in the development lifecycle (shift-left testing) to identify and fix defects more efficiently.

• Continuously improve product quality and reduce the time and resources spent on fixing issues.

• Plan for and manage the QA department’s budget; allocate resources efficiently to meet quality objectives.

Team Leadership and Development:

• Lead and develop a team of QA Managers, Engineers, and Automation Specialists.

• Implement ongoing training/mentorship programs and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Global Team Integration:

• Effectively incorporate and leverage the QA team in India to drive quality initiatives.

• Develop strategies with our India QA Leader for seamless collaboration between domestic and international teams, ensuring efficient communication and aligned objectives.

• Provide mentorship and resources to empower the global QA workforce.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Partner with engineering, product management, and operations teams to define quality goals and requirements.

• Act as a key advisor to executive leadership on quality risks and trade-offs.

• Represent QA in cross-departmental and executive-level discussions by presenting key quality metrics and discussing improvement areas.

• Ensure QA processes and standards align with business objectives, remain customer-centric, and drive efforts to capture and incorporate customer feedback into QA processes.

Test Automation and Innovation:

• Drive innovation in testing methodologies and tools, emphasizing automation and scalability.

• Ensure the development and maintenance of robust test automation frameworks for functional, performance, and security testing.

• Evaluate and implement emerging technologies to enhance QA efficiency.

• Champion continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices through QA proficiency.
