As a Gas Power Aeroderivatives intern you will an active contributor in a fast paced, customer focused internship working with cross-functional teams such as product management, product champions, engineering, and marketing. We are using Lean methodology to streamline our commercial bidding processes for world leading Aeroderivative gas turbine packages.

Job Description

What you will do:

As an Aeroderivative Engineering Intern you will opportunities to work in areas such as:

Plant ITR Mechanical Engineer: A plant ITR engineer performs as both application engineer and project engineer. The Applications Engineering role is a techno-commercial role that finds the best application of plant systems & configuration to solve customer challenges. In project engineering role, you need to support the on-time delivery of as -sold plant/solution to end customer at the highest quality and within the assigned budget. Review and interpret customer inquiries, project requirements and specifications to establish scope of supply limits, develop details comments & clarifications, evaluate & define non-standard product request. Work with vendors to obtain project-specific information and quotations, Review supplier’s drawings and deliverables against customer requirements, local codes & standards as well as GE design practices. Define, review, and manage technical proposal development and execution activities that include but not limited to product mechanical equipment, plant mechanical system, piping & instrumentation design, material finalization, review pump curves/sizing, piping stress analysis and pressure drop calculation.

Aero Engineering

Aero engineering executes designs on a full portfolio of new product introduction (NPI), reliability & maintainability (RAM), product cost out initiatives (PCO), customized requisitions, and services and customer support. Projects include design of all mechanical components and system integration of aeroderivative packages like fuel system design, auxiliary skids, synthetic and mineral lube oil system design, enclosures, piping, and all other necessary process systems that support the operation of the aeroderivative gas turbine.  Mechanical system-level and detailed component design may span all Aero equipment including design and structural interpretation of heavy structures, piping, inlets, exhausts, enclosures, bases, building/foundations, and plant layouts.

Internship Term Dates:

May/June - August 2026

Expected Work Schedule:

Day/1st -Shift (40 - hours weekly)

Location: Houston, TX

What You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications)

  • Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding)
  • Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical field of study in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Enrolled in a full time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program
  • Must have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $34.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed
