After School Program Group Leader (Sub Position)

*This position requires travel to different sites*

We are seeking committed and passionate After School Program Instructors to lead academic, physical, and enrichment activities as part of our East Bay After School Programs. As a Program Instructor you will lead and mentor up to 20 youth in an afterschool setting.

Benefits:

• Pay rate: $20-$23/ an hour (based on experience and location)
• Hours: 22 hours per week
• Schedule: Monday through Friday, afternoons until 6 p.m.; Off holidays, summers, and weekends

Responsibilities:

• Support and maintain a safe and emotionally supportive environment
• Execute lesson plans that support school-day learning
• Collaborate with youth to support their learning and development (youth-driven curriculum)
• Model BACR Best Practices

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

• No experience required
• Available Monday through Friday 20 -24 hours per week, afternoons until 6 pm
• Ability to reliably commute to Oakland
• Commitment to social justice and leadership
• Passionate about learning and youth development: K-12
• Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Preferred:

• Commitment to a full school year, ability to practice open, clear and consistent communication, and commitment to participate in professional development.
