Job Description

WDC is a pioneer in enterprise Storage Networking dedicated to delivering excellence through innovative solutions. We are seeking a diligent and technically adept System Test Engineering Intern to join our team for the summer. This internship is tailored for a Computer Engineering or Computer Science Master's student who is keen to dive into the world of ASIC/FPGA board & system testing and validation.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the development and execution of test plans for ASIC/FPGA boards and Systems
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to define testing requirements and strategies.
  • Set up and configure test environments, including hardware setup and software installation.
  • Execute test cases, document results, and identify any discrepancies or issues.
  • Engage in automated and manual testing processes to ensure system functionality and performance.
  • Work closely with firmware & hardware development teams to debug and troubleshoot issues.
  • Contribute to the improvement of test methodologies and frameworks.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and provide updates on testing progress.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a focus on system validation/testing
  • Solid understanding of Data Center system design concepts.
  • Experience with FPGA or ASIC testing methodologies at the board level of system level.
  • Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Shell.
  • Familiarity with test equipment like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and function generators
  • Ethernet and/or PCIe knowledge/experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Previous internship or project experience in a related field is desirable.
