Position Summary...
The Wellbeing team is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with strong hands-on experience in modern full-stack development. In this role, you’ll be a key technical contributor helping to design, build, and scale enterprise-grade digital applications used by millions of Walmart associates.You’ll work closely with other engineers, product managers, designers, and platform teams to deliver resilient and secure solutions. You’ll apply engineering best practices, lead development on complex features, and help drive adoption of next-gen technologies such as GenAI.

- Implement full-stack solutions using technologies like React, Node.js, Typescript, and cloud services.
- Build scalable and secure features that meet performance and reliability targets.
- Lead development on complex components and features, ensuring quality, testability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with architects and senior engineers to define implementation details aligned with the broader technical direction.
- Contribute to system design, code reviews, testing strategy, and release planning.
- Partner with product, UX, and DevOps teams to deliver seamless and consistent user experiences.
- Help integrate GenAI features into the product where appropriate (e.g., smart suggestions, productivity tools).
- Promote clean code, reusability, and operational excellence through CI/CD and observability practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge-sharing within the team.
- Participate in Agile development rituals and support production releases as needed.
What You'll Bring
- 6+ years of software development experience building scalable applications.
- Strong full-stack skills with expertise in React, Node.js, Typescript, and RESTful APIs.
- Experience working in cloud environments (e.g., Azure, GCP, or AWS).
- Familiarity with GenAI tools and frameworks is a plus.
- Proven ability to take ownership of complex features or systems.
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and monitoring tools.
- Experience migrating legacy applications to modern web frameworks.
- Ability to write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and collaborative mindset.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities in GTA Team: Manager Experience Web Migration
- Lead Feature Development for Manager Experience
Own the design and implementation of major components in the new React Native-based Manager Experience. Ensure seamless cross-platform behavior across web and mobile containers. - Execute Migration from Legacy JSP Platform
Contribute to the structured transition of workflows and UI from the GTA Portal to a unified Walmart Web-Mobile architecture. Ensure reliability, testing coverage, and iterative delivery. - Adopt Company Container Strategy
Implement the shared web-mobile container framework and contribute feedback to enhance developer workflows and runtime performance. - Promote Engineering Best Practices
Help define coding standards, CI/CD pipelines, and automated test suites. Encourage teamwide adoption of high-quality engineering workflows. - Support GenAI Integration
Identify use cases for GenAI within the application. Collaborate on implementation of features like autofill or smart suggestions to improve user experience and developer productivity.
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering (any), or a related field.
