Development Process Lead
Quick Quack Car WashAbout the role
Formal Job Summary:
The Development Process Lead will have a pivotal role in building, standardizing, and continuously improving the end-to-end processes that guide how Quick Quack brings new carwash locations to life—from site selection and entitlement through permitting and construction completion. This person will collaborate with cross-functional teams including real estate, entitlement, permitting, design, construction, legal, and operations to ensure that development projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The role blends process architecture with hands-on project management, requiring the ability to balance competing priorities, manage multiple active projects, and drive clarity across teams that may have previously operated in silos. The main focus will be on the entitlement, permitting, and design teams and how they interact with many other vendors and departments within Quick Quack.
Desired Duties and Responsibilities:
- Define project objectives, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with site development stakeholders across all development departments in QQ as well as development vendors.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Create and maintain project documentation, including process maps, risk assessments, and mitigation plans.
- Work closely with site development team members across all disciplines to help projects stay on time and within budget.
- Design, refine, and implement standardized processes for each phase related to the work within the entitlement, permitting and design teams, including stage-gate criteria and handoff protocols between teams.
- Maintain clear and open communication channels with project stakeholders.
- Provide regular project status updates and reports to senior leadership, including cycle time metrics and milestone tracking.
- Ensure that site development projects meet quality standards and comply with applicable regulations, permitting requirements, and company guidelines.
- Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Track project progress, milestones, and key performance indicators including entitlement and permit cycle times across jurisdictions.
- Analyze project data and prepare regular reports for management review.
- Collaborate with external partners including municipalities, contractors, architects, engineers, and vendors as needed throughout the development lifecycle.
- Troubleshoot project blockers and make quick decisions to keep development timelines on track across multiple concurrent projects.
- Familiarity with key disciplines involved in site development such as real estate, civil engineering, entitlements, permitting, construction management, and local land use regulations.
- Build and refine the site development process, defining key phase milestones, decision gates, and deliverables from site selection through construction close-out.
- Lead documentation efforts across the development lifecycle including process playbooks, requirements gathering, permitting trackers, construction readiness checklists, and cross-team communication templates.
- Maintain accurate records of project status, process changes, and site development progress across the portfolio.
- Performs work independently.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field and 5+ years of experience in real estate development, construction management, project management, or operations, or a Master’s degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.
