About the role

As the Project Architect for Multi Family projects your role will include managing all aspects of a multi-discipline project, from development to production. You will be responsible for creating drawings, specifications, and conducting code reviews independently. Additionally, you will coordinate with other disciplines when the project manager is unavailable. It will be your duty to review architectural documents before submitting them to the client and governing authorities to ensure design and code completeness.

Your main objective in this position will be to work collaboratively with a team to meet all project requirements and ensure timely completion. This will involve delegating tasks to the Project Designer and Project Technician, as well as coordinating with all other disciplines. You will also support the Project Manager by participating in client and design team meetings, as well as assisting with construction administration. As a motivated individual, you will handle all duties without the need for guidance. It is crucial that you possess a comprehensive understanding of relevant building codes. Please note that your assignments and supervision may vary from time to time.

Duties

  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with co-workers, staff, project managers, other disciplines, and all other employees.
  • Supervisory responsibilities as it pertains to completing projects.
  • Responsible for all duties defined as part of Project Designer as well as all duties defined below.
  • Assist the Project Manager in determining project staffing requirements.
  • Implementation of the owners’ program and subsequent needs from the user group meetings into construction documents.
  • Sign and seal construction documents (Project Architect only).
  • Prepare final drawings and specifications for issuance.
  • Be additional client point of contact (Attend client meetings when PM is not available).
  • Coordinate project team to ensure work is being performed and coordinated.
  • Develop redlines for the entire project to be implemented by all.
  • Perform all construction administration tasks.
  • Perform QAQC coordination for all discipline work.
  • Communicate with the project manager all design team workings.
  • Meet with building code officials to review project and implement requested changes into the documents.
  • Perform building code reviews and implement all necessary requirements into the construction documents.
  • Take meeting notes and create meeting minutes for issuance.
  • Review work of the project designer for implementation.
  • Prepare final project construction cost estimate for issuance.
  • Communicate with the project manager.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

·         5-year NAAB Accredited degree or equivalent education and work experience combination.

·         5-10 years’ experience.

·         Licensed Architect (Project Architect only).

·         Microsoft Office Suite

·         AutoDesk (Revit & AutoCAD)

·         Sketchup

·         Photoshop

·         Illustrator

·         Estimating Software (Costworks)

·         Specification writing software (SpecBuilder & Masterworks)
