About The Team:
The Equipment Engineer will be the key leader in System (Capital) business for medical robotic products during Noah’s NPI commercialization phase through to sustaining. The role will be responsible for overseeing equipment and automation for the manufacturing process and all equipment related technical aspects included but not limited to capacity increases, tooling and equipment, part and sub assembly build processes.
A Day In The Life Of Our Manufacturing Automation Equipment Engineer:
- Designing and developing automation solutions for industrial and manufacturing processes
- Programming PLCs and other control systems
- Integrating mechanical and electrical components
- Utilizing Robotics Automation, Artificial Intelligence and other technologies for automating processes
- Designing, developing and testing new robotic solutions
- Analyzing data for optimizing system performance
- Creating detailed plans and specifications for new equipment, ensuring they meet safety, performance, and regulatory standards.
- Conducting tests and experiments to assess equipment performance, reliability, and durability.
- Identifying and resolving technical issues and malfunctions in equipment, often requiring hands-on problem-solving skills.
- Apply root cause analysis of issue and prevent from happening again.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including other engineers, technicians, and project managers, to ensure equipment integration and efficiency.
- Maintaining accurate records, documentation, and reports related to equipment specifications, maintenance, and performance.
- Ensuring that all equipment meets regulatory and safety standards and addressing any compliance issues.
- Providing training to technicians and operators on equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance protocols.
- Develop and execute validation (IQ/OQ/PQ) protocol.
- Review calibration requirements and coordinate calibration activities with internal and external teams.
- Review equipment documents and ensure all defined requirements are met.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement automation methodologies where applicable.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and utilize data analytics to streamline AEE operations, increase productivity, and reduce waste.
- Develop improvements to enhance equipment reliability and scalability.
- Support Good Manufacturing Practices and quality management system in accordance with FDA regulatory and ISO 13485 requirements.
About You:
- Education: BS degree computer science, engineering or equivalent.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C#.
- Previous experience in automation engineering or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools and frameworks
- Familiar with control system
- Solid understanding of software testing methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details
- 5+ years’ experience in manufacturing, including 7+ years of capital equipment engineering or related experience.
- Prior manufacturing experience in a medical device company, preferably on surgical robotics or equivalent highly complex medical devices.
- Strong team player with proven history of success working in a multi-disciplinary, cross functional team.
- Strong verbal and written skill with the ability to communicate effectively across functions and levels in the organization.
- Excellent people and project management skills
- Experience in MRP systems, MS office and related office automation systems.
- Experience in Medical Device Design Control processes preferred.
- Experience with sterilization processes preferred.
