The Budget Development and Advice team:
- Manages the budget development process for the whole of the Department of Health
- Provides consolidated reporting and analysis on the Agency's budget and overall financial position to the Department's Executive
- Provides support to corporate and policy areas across the Agency including the provision of financial analysis and advice.
The Role:
As a member of the Budget and Finance senior management team, the Manager - Budget Development and Advice will:
- Provide high level strategic advice and support in relation to the development, management and reporting of the Agency’s budget and overall financial position, as well as high level advice on budgetary and financial issues and reforms as they arise.
- Develop and implement Whole of Agency financial policies, procedures and controls designed to improve the overall financial management, budgeting and reporting requirements of the Department of Health.
- Manage the budget development process and ensure that the Agency’s budget is developed and managed to best achieve financial sustainability within the Government’s and Agency’s financial and policy objectives and overall budgetary parameters.
You will need:
- A thorough understanding of Government financial and budgeting processes.
- Strong management and leadership skills to drive best practice and efficiency within the team.
- Highly developed communication and negotiation skills to build and manage relationships with key stakeholders.

Details of appointment: General Stream, Band 8
Permanent full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $139,470 - $148,863 per annum. Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022
