Job Title:

Procurement Manager, Data Centers - Americas - P2026060/000054

Company:

Prologis

A day in the life

Prologis is seeking a strategic and execution-oriented Sourcing Manager, Data Centers to lead sourcing and procurement of owner-furnished/contractor-installed equipment (OFCI) across a broad set of mission-critical data center categories. You’ll serve as the commercial lead supporting powered shell and turnkey data center development, as well as electrical substation development, partnering closely with Development, Design/Engineering, Construction/GCs, Commissioning, and Legal.

This is an experienced data center sourcing and procurement role in a specialized environment—ideal for someone who has run OFCI programs across multiple equipment families (electrical power chain, cooling/thermal, controls, and supporting infrastructure) and can drive outcomes across strategy, contracting, and delivery execution.

Key responsibilities include:

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management (Data Center CapEx)

  • Own end-to-end strategic sourcing for multiple data center categories, including:
    • Switchgear & Power Distribution (MV/LV switchgear, switchboards, busway, breakers, ATS, PDUs/RPPs)
    • Critical Power (UPS systems, batteries/energy storage interfaces, generators and fuel systems where applicable)
    • Cooling / Thermal Management (chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC, pumps, heat rejection/heat exchangers)
    • Supporting infrastructure (controls, monitoring, ancillary packages as applicable)
  • Build and execute category strategies (supplier segmentation, should-cost/TCO inputs, competitive bidding strategy, preferred vendor programs, contracting standards).
  • Lead RFx processes (RFI/RFP/RFQ), bid leveling, negotiation, commercial evaluation, award recommendations, and contract execution (MSAs, SOWs, exhibits, SLAs).

OFCI Procurement Execution (Long-lead & Critical Equipment)

  • Manage the OFCI procurement lifecycle across a portfolio of projects: demand planning, procurement schedules, PO placement, manufacturing milestones, logistics coordination, and delivery readiness.
  • Drive supplier accountability for submittals, drawing packages, manufacturing schedules, FAT/SAT readiness, and delivery milestones—keeping projects on track for commissioning and energization dates.
  • Partner with EPCs and commissioning teams to align commercial terms with installation, quality, warranty, and startup requirements.

Supplier Relationship Management & Performance

  • Build strong relationships with OEMs and key suppliers; run supplier performance management (KPIs/scorecards, QBRs, corrective action plans).
  • Manage supply risk: capacity constraints, lead times, material shortages, logistics disruptions, and supplier financial health—developing mitigation plans (dual sourcing, alternates, inventory buffers, schedule resequencing).
  • Identify opportunities for standardization, framework agreements, and volume leverage to improve cost, lead time, and delivery reliability.

Cross-functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as a commercial sourcing partner to Data Center Development teams—translating design intent into procurement strategy and execution plans.
  • Collaborate with engineering to align specs with market availability and cost/schedule tradeoffs (value engineering without compromising reliability).
  • Provide clear executive-ready updates on procurement status, risk, and decisions—supporting governance cadences and reporting.

Building blocks for success

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain, or category management within capital projects, mission-critical infrastructure, industrial construction, energy, or data centers.
