Description
The Commercial Banker must be willing to Interview commercial loan applicants and make credit decisions within established guidelines. Process loan applications, maintain customer relationships including related consumer loan and deposits. Maintain and service Commercial Loans including collection efforts and Deposit Pipelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Actively promotes products and services and refers existing and potential customers to Treasury Management, Private Banking, Wealth & Asset Management, and Office Manager/Staff. Responsible for loan originations and growth, deposit gathering, fee income, and referrals. Meet established goals as outlined by senior management. Utilize Loan Vantage to produce a quality loan presentation. This presentation will then be used for approval by the Commercial Banker, Senior Management, and/or Officers’ Loan Committee. One is encouraged to proficiently know and use Loan Vantage. Process includes but not limited to:
Interviews applicant and requests specified information for loan application.
Analyzing applicant’s financial status, credit, and property evaluation to resolve feasibility of granting loan. Works with credit analyst to assist with underwriting of loan proposal.
Requests applicant credit reports, background checks, reference checks, and other information pertinent to loan applicant’s evaluation. Corresponds with or interviews applicant or creditors to resolve questions regarding application information.
Compiles loan package and facilitates consultation of loan structure with applicant including fees, loan repayment options, and other credit terms.
Approves loan within specified limits or refers loan to loan committee for approval.
Ensures loan agreements are complete and accurate according to policy.
Assures timely loan closing and funding activities.
- Ultimately responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the loan analysis and documentation. They should work closely with Credit Administration and Portfolio Managers to assure underwriting, documentation and funding activities are complete and timely. Also, will be held responsible for ensuring that documentation is accurate.
- Advises management of external factors that may affect established lending policies, such as revised legislations and regulations. Recommends and implements appropriate changes to policies and procedures.
- Actively supervises portfolio, and works with borrowers when vital, to ensure prompt and timely repayment of loans and early detection of existing/potential problems.
- Exercise smart spending in accordance with policy, and timely submits all expense reports.
- Proudly represents the Bank in a professional manner and provides leadership/ community involvement in the market in which he/she resides and works.
- Report to the office every day. If they have an off-site meeting and will not be reporting that day, another member of the office team should be made aware.

QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE
Title of Commercial Banking Officer, AVP/Commercial Banking, VP/Commercial Banking, or SVP/Commercial Banking is dependent on education level and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual is required to perform each crucial duty satisfactorily.
