Manager of the Facilities Maintenance organization at GE Vernova Hitachi (GVH) Nuclear Energy’s commercial nuclear energy headquarters, located in Wilmington, NC.In this role, you will lead a team of facilities employees and manage a Facilities Management vendor, providing maintenance and project management for the Wilmington facility. In close partnership with Wilmington leadership, manufacturing and EHS teams, you will provide strategic focus and leadership to ensure safe, compliant, efficient and reliable facilities maintenance, site services and site improvements. This is a fully in-person role based on Wilmington NC.

Roles and Responsibilities
The Facilities Maintenance Manager will provide leadership for Wilmington’s facilities including site buildings, grounds, roads, utilities and waste water systems. Strict adherence to nuclear safety, EHS and other compliance requirements is critical. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Embrace GVH’s nuclear safety culture, where work is performed with an overriding priority on integrity, safety, security, and quality.
- Ensure conformance with all compliance and safety regulations, ensuring that all work is performed in compliance to all laws, policies, regulations, permits and codes, including LOTO and contractor safety.
- Responsible for ensuring that team members are provided with adequate training to assure safe nuclear and industrial maintenance practices.
- Manage Facilities Maintenance team providing proactive and reactive maintenance service to site buildings, grounds, roads, utilities and wastewater systems.
- Supervisor for assigned team members. Train, supervise and manage employees’ activities and resources for maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities, following appropriate procedures and protocol.
- Manage site contracted services in the areas of industrial contractors, janitorial, cafeteria and grounds maintenance.
- Lead utility savings projects to provide long term sustainable cost reductions for the site.
- Achieve budget commitments with high internal customer satisfaction. Monitor and improve cost productivity, drive cost reductions on maintenance budget, through sustainable long-term projects.
- Responsible for overall maintenance planning/schedule requirements. Resolve scheduling issues, track work orders and deploy maintenance and contract personnel. Ensure flexibility in planning to meet business, maintenance, and operational goals.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing and Human Performance (HU) processes and culture in all areas of responsibility.
- Promote a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in compliance, nuclear safety, EHS, customer service and productivity. Promote team morale, diversity, involvement/ownership, and skills development.
- Support site emergency response organization and manage related projects, planning, and site recovery efforts.
- Champion positive employee relations. Schedule and conduct employee meetings; foster employee engagement and ensure that operational goals are effectively communicated to employees. Support the development of operations and leadership talent.
- Other relevant duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college; OR high school diploma with 10 years of experience in a maintenance, nuclear, manufacturing, facilities or other technical field.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in a technical, maintenance, manufacturing, operations, or military role
- At least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience
- At least 2 years of experience with at least 2 of the following:
- Electrical distribution & controls
- Mechanical facilities maintenance
- Instrumentation and control
- Industrial HVAC
- Potable water, industrial piping, facilities piping
- Facilities maintenance (roofing, roads, grounds maintenance, etc.)
- Maintenance planning and systems
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability to stoop, crawl, kneel, crouch, reach and move around equipment, climb and work at elevated levels and in confined spaces. Ability to use ladders, go into pits and climb scaffolds.
- Ability to work in cold/heat.
- Ability to use a computer. Frequent use of computer equipment.
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations, read complex technical manuals.
- Must maintain after hours cell phone availability (24 X 7)
- Must be able to work fully onsite in Wilmington NC
