About the role

Summary

The Clinical Research Associate will be supporting research and evaluation activities within the Division of Public Health. The Division of Public Health was established to prevent and mitigate childhood adversities and to provide care for our community’s most vulnerable children. The Division is engaged in a wide range of research and evaluation activities. Examples of topics/programs of interest include: child maltreatment, foster care, perinatal depression and anxiety, early brain development, home visiting, and infant mortality.  Initially, the Clinical Research Associate will support the Harris County Child Fatality Review Team's CDC funding project related to sudden unexplained infant deaths and infant sleep. Additional projects will be added based on need and interest. 

Job Duties

  • Support Child Fatality Review Team (CFRT) and other division initiatives with data collection, entry, analysis, interpretation, and visualization.
  • Managing data requests for CFRT.
  • Supporting research and publication initiatives for CFRT.
  • Establishes study files and prepares and oversees study-related documentation.
  • Assists with the preparation of reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's of Public Health or similar degree preferred.
  • Microsoft excel, statistical programs such STATA/SPSS/SAS/R/Python or similar, data visualization programs such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Ideal candidate is flexible, interested in variety of maternal child health topics, and have a desire to learn new skills and engage in new topics.
  • Able to juggle multiple projects at one time.
