Position Summary
As the Global Market Manager, you'll spearhead market strategies and initiatives for the Polymers markets to drive sustained profitability and growth within Huber Advance Materials (HAM). Your role encompasses developing innovative solutions, identifying new market opportunities, and ensuring alignment with overarching business objectives. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional value propositions and capitalize on emerging trends.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Strategic Development: Lead the formulation and execution of global/regional market strategies, fostering differentiation, segmentation, and sustainable growth aligned with the SBU's vision. Actively contribute to the development of the SBU's strategic roadmap.
- Pricing Strategies: Collaborate with Sales to develop effective pricing strategies, optimizing market value while maintaining profitability. Monitor price, volume, and gross profit dynamics, driving insights and strategies for enhanced profitability.
- Market Intelligence: Champion an "outside-in" perspective by gathering customer insights and competitive intelligence. Work closely with cross-functional teams to leverage market data and identify growth opportunities.
- New Business Development: Drive initiatives for new business development in strategic growth areas, collaborating with Sales and CTS teams to allocate resources effectively and capitalize on market trends.
- Value Proposition Development: Develop compelling value propositions and sales tools in partnership with Marketing/CTS, ensuring clear communication of product benefits and commanding a premium in the market.
- Project Management: Serve as a key driver for differentiation and growth, managing new product development projects and ensuring alignment with customer needs and market demands.
- Competitor Analysis: Monitor competitor landscape and activities, providing insights to stakeholders and informing strategic decision-making.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster relationships at various levels internally and externally, collaborating with stakeholders to achieve set objectives.
- M&A Recommendations: Provide insights and recommendations on potential M&A opportunities to drive business growth, working closely with VP Sales & Marketing and Management.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
- Minimum of ten years in commercial roles such as Market Management, Sales, Business Management, or Marketing, with a track record in strategy development and execution. MBA preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or Engineering preferred, with the ability to effectively communicate product value in technical sales environments.
- Strong project management skills with experience leading New Business Development (NBD) and New Product Development (NPD) projects, preferably in a stage-gate environment.
- Minimum 5 years of global business experience within a matrix organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with ERP systems preferred.
- Ability to work independently, multitask, and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support business objectives.
