Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability System Safety and Supportability.
What You Will Do:
As a Repair Technical Engineer you’ll perform depot level inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair in support of the Javelin missile Command Launch Unit (CLU) and training devices (TD,) at the Javelin Joint Venture (JJV) and Javelin Maintenance Support Center (JMSC) located in Los Angeles, CA.
Additional responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with troubleshooting and repair to various types of circuit cards, cable harnesses, electronic, and electro-optical assemblies.
- Analyzing equipment failures to determine root cause and recommending corrective action.
- Reading and working with schematics, engineering drawings, written, and oral work instructions.
- Assisting with incorporating hardware and software modifications on tactical, training, and test and support equipment resulting from changes in engineering, design and obsolescence.
- Assisting in the development of new test procedures and test equipment, while providing input effecting design changes to improve process efficiency or reduce cost.
- Performing effectively in a positive team environment with Technical and Engineering personnel and as an individual contributor.
- Travel in support of program commitments such as providing CLU maintenance, training to customer personnel and providing assistance with gunner live fire training.
This job is posted as ONSITE and is based at the Javelin Joint Venture / Maintenance Support Center located in Los Angeles, CA.
This role requires approximately 10% travel.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically Requires a Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years’ prior relevant experience
- Experience with electronics troubleshooting, testing and / or repair
- Experience with schematics, blueprints or written and / or oral rework instructions
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Experience with electronic assembly, test tools, and/or materials
- Proficient in the use of standard electronic test equipment, such as oscilloscopes and DVM
- Experience with root cause / corrective action and /or failure analysis
- Current DoD clearance
- Proficient computer skills to include Microsoft Office suite.
- Solder Certified and Cable / Harness Certified or be eligible to receive certification.
- Ability to perform and communicate effectively in a team environment
