About the role

Overview

This limited services position will provide coordination and support between an incarcerated student liaison advisor from Community College of Vermont and Corrections Education Supervisors and the Registrar.  The position is part of a developing initiative to support the availability of post secondary education to eligible incarcerated individuals.  The position will support promotion of the opportunity available through the CCV Corrections Post Secondary Education Initiative (CPSEI) at the correctional facilities, assist in coordinating interested individuals with eligibility, application and support coordination in flexible pathways and dual enrollment between Corrections Education and CPSEI.  The position will assist with scheduling support services and developing processes for student information sharing, including continued enrollment and educational progress post incarceration.

Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

Environmental Factors

Duties are performed predominantly in an office setting with frequent travel to six correctional facilities throughout the State. Work schedule will include regular scheduled hours outside State workday (7:45 am – 4:30 pm Monday – Friday) and may include some weekend support. 

Minimum Qualifications

Three (3) or more years of experience in project management, or program coordination.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience as described above. 

Bachelor’s degree in one or more of the following and/or other related field: adult learning, education, organizational development, and/or public administration AND two (2) years or more experience that includes any combination the following: training or staff development, teaching or facilitating programs for adults, providing consultation services to an organization. 

Special Requirements

Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to this position. In accordance with AHS Policy 4.02, Hiring Standards, Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates, with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer, promotion, or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
