POSITION: Cook Senior *2 Positions*
SALARY: $20.99-$24.34, per hour
REPORTS TO: Food Service Manager
LOCATION: Convalescent Center, Nespelem, WA
Basic Functions: Non-Exempt. The Cook Senior is responsible for the preparation of all meals and snacks, assuring that all meals are prepared conforming to the menu and recipes. All meals must be prepared in a timely manner and presented in an appealing manner.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Training:
- Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Requires that all meals are prepared in accordance and conforming to individual resident diet cards.
- Requires to prepare meals conforming to the published menu and substitutes items only in an emergency or with the Food Service Manager’s authorization.
- Requires to ensure that menus are maintained and filed in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Requires to prepare all snacks and the evening nourishments according to all guidelines.
- Requires to ensure that all meals and snacks are served at the correct time as scheduled.
- Requires processes diet changes and new diet orders as received from the Nursing department.
- Requires to preform assigned cleaning in conformity to the schedule.
- Requires responsibility for checking and signing in all food deliveries in the absence of the Food Service Manager.
- Must have knowledge of safe and proper food handling, storage, and disposal practices.
- Must be able to read, write, and understand the English language.
- Must function independently and be able to work a flexible schedule.
- Must be able to process diet changes and new diet orders as received the Nursing department.
Note: Pursuant to Tribal Policy, if this position is safety sensitive it is subject to pre-employment drug testing. In addition, this position is subject to reasonable suspicion and post-accident drug testing.
TRIBAL MEMBER AND INDIAN PREFERENCE WILL APPLY; PREFERENCE WILL ALSO BE GIVEN TO HONORABLY DISCHARGED VETERANS WHO ARE MINIMALLY QUALIFIED.
If required of this position, you must possess and maintain a valid Washington State driver’s license and be eligible for the Tribes’ Vehicle Insurance. In addition, this position may be subject to pre-employment background clearances. If applicable, these clearances must be maintained throughout employment.
