Asset Management Equipment Technician

Job Description

US Med-Equip Asset Management Equipment Technician, provides cost-effective maintenance on company and customer-owned medical biomedical equipment to ensure it is functioning properly following manufacturer specifications while supporting the daily functions of on-site Asset Management teams. They perform operational verification procedures, preventive maintenance, and minor corrective repair service on biomedical equipment under the guidance of a qualified Biomedical Equipment Technicians and/or supervisor.  In their effort to support Asset Management programs they will also be required as needed to clean, inspect, and deliver managed equipment.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Demonstrated competency to perform cost-effective equipment inspection, maintenance, calibration, and repair service on various medical devices.
  • Complete all paperwork and computer data entry accurately and promptly to ensure complete documentation for billing and regulatory compliance.
  • Communicate with clinical staff on the topics of equipment features, functionality, etc.
  • Provide technical training to other employees in areas such as equipment operation, check-out procedures, preventive maintenance, repair, quality management and/or International Organization for Standardization practices, procedures and documentation.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and hospital protocols, to ensure regulatory and compliance requirements are met; ensure documentation of all work performed is captured.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on a diverse range of medical equipment to ensure peak functionality and extend equipment lifespan.
  • Adheres to the Medical Equipment Management Plan (MEMP), including all regulatory agency compliance, and other, applicable policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for accurately completing all service documentation.
  • Documents all equipment incidents in occurrence with both US Med-Equip and customer policies.
  • Aptitude to become patient care equipment subject matter expert.
  • Works well with others to make contributions to the work effort as a whole and facilitates problem resolution.
  • Maintains an orderly environment that facilitates access to supplies, manuals, and other resource information.
  • Projects high degree of professionalism and is customer focused.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work setting.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma Required. Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in mechanical, electrical, biological science, engineering Preferred or Military equivalent
  • Must be able to complete all USME and/or Manufacturer assigned training.
