Registered Nurse - Vascular Access/PICC Line Team
Part Time Day Shift - TriHealth Bethesda North Hospital

Work Schedule:
- Part Time Days (48 hours bi-weekly)
- 12 hour shifts
- Holiday on-call
Job Overview:
This position applies the nursing process in providing direct and indirect holistic care to patients and their families. The position also collaborates, in a collegial manner, with physicians and other health care team members in meeting the patient's needs. This position may delegate certain aspects of care to those under their direct supervision, within the scope of nursing practice. This position does float between GSH and BNH on a six-week advance schedule.

Job Requirements:
- Associate's Degree - Nursing (Required)
- New hires required to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire. (Required)
- Minimum of 2-3 years of nursing experience (Required)
- Experience in vascular access/PICC lines is required (minimum of one year)
- Must be proficient in peripheral IV placement
- Certification in vascular access strongly preferred (must be willing to obtain within one year upon hire)
- Knowledge, judgment, and skills derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences to meet complex health care needs at various stages of the life cycle
- Registered Nurse Required
- ACLS PALS may be required but is dependent on unit or department Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides safe, ethical, patient‑centered vascular access care while preserving patient autonomy, dignity, and rights
- Performs accurate, timely PICC insertions and line maintenance in accordance with TriHealth policy and CDC, AVA, and INS standards
- Demonstrates strong clinical judgment, troubleshooting difficult insertions, repositioning catheters, and managing clotted lumens
- Maintains high standards of quality and safety, including sterile technique, hand hygiene, sharps safety, and accurate documentation
- Communicates effectively with patients, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members; delivers excellent customer service
- Serves as a resource, preceptor, and mentor to team members; supports teamwork and unit leadership as needed
- Participates in quality monitoring, committees, and process improvement initiatives
- Prioritizes workload effectively to meet patient and unit needs
- Maintains professional competence through continuing education, certification, and professional organization involvement
- Meets all mandatory TriHealth and unit requirements and actively participates in team activities
