Job Description

The Paralegal assists attorneys with corporate and transactional legal work by conducting research, preparing legal documents, and supporting various legal functions. This includes drafting, reviewing, and maintaining complex legal, loan, and collateral documentation, conducting due diligence, and ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Draft, review, and maintain legal, loan, and collateral documents; collaborate with attorneys and deal teams, and serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and status updates.
  • Conduct due diligence, including UCC lien searches, title reviews, and organizing organizational documents, while addressing any issues and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assist with legal audits, document preparation for discovery requests, and research to support mortgage law and other legal matters.
  • Manage and track collateral and insurance, ensuring all conditions are met and transactions progress smoothly.
  • Provide quality control for legal documents, track transaction progress, and facilitate deal team meetings to ensure timelines are met and risks are managed.
  • Lead or participate in projects, serving as a resource and subject matter expert for internal teams on legal and transactional matters.

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree or paralegal certification preferred

Work Experience

  • 5 years paralegal experience, preferably in a secured lending practice or law firm required.
  • Understanding of loan and collateral transactions and ability to audit a transaction or customer.
  • Intermediate knowledge of legal, commercial lending, and lease terminology, title insurance, real estate law, the Uniform Commercial Code and collateral documentation, with intermediate knowledge of some of these areas preferred.

The typical base pay range for this role is between $80,300 - $91,840. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. This position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
