Job Summary

Leads, develops, and grows a high-performance product management organization.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership

  • Leads the product management function including planning, initiative development, and deployment

  • Provides leadership and direction to the team, through senior managers and/or directors

  • Will likely lead a larger team or multiple teams focused on execution of area or sub-function plans

  • Is accountable for the performance and results of direct reports/a larger or multiple teams, and/or a global function

  • Responsible for: defining succession plan and people development strategy, performance management of team members, including disciplinary actions and hire/fire decisions, GPS process including assessments and Total Rewards allocations of direct reports and reviewing and approving management team recommendations, talent development, including quarterly conversations, career pathways conversations and individual development/growth plans

  • Models the Equinix Culture and Values

  • Fosters and promotes high engagement, performance and collaboration while providing strategic direction across several local & remote teams


Product Interlock

  • Ensures a tight, two-way relationship between Product and cross-functional stakeholders


Product Strategy

  • Drives the strategy and direction to scale and improve our product offerings


Product P&L

  • Manages Product P&L


Product GTM & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Builds and maintains healthy relationships at all levels of the organization - evangelizing the team, aligning on common goals, and creating a shared vision


Product Development and Positioning

  • Evangelizes the product portfolio by engaging regularly with internal teams and customers to drive deeper understanding of our products and offerings and differentiation in the market

Product / Domain Expertise

  • Seen as an advisor and thought leader - engaging regularly with customers and internal teams to explain the portfolio, product strategy


Resource and Budget Management

  • Works within cross function teams as well as external teams for setting strategies for optimal utilization of resources across programs and projects

  • Identifies potential budget shortfalls and partner with Finance and/or other Product leadership to manage proactively

  • Manages and/or escalates issues, as needed

  • Provides input to the annual budget planning process relating to project/support/SW maintenance/Renewals/purchases/etc. for his/her areas of responsibility

  • Presents to Product senior leadership for final approval


Process/Policies/Standards

  • Provides thought leadership and guidance for creating process/policies/ standards, in line with Product priorities

  • Partners with cross functional, cross regional leadership teams to create organizational process/policies/ standards

  • Proactively adjusts process framework based on internal and external market dynamics


Qualifications

  • 20+ years experience preferred

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
