About the role

This position is with an affiliate of Smith. It is not at Smith.

Applicants are required to have Magento experience and live in the Houston area. The position is located on the west side of Houston. Applicants without extensive Magento experience will not be considered for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ecommerce Platform Development: Deliver comprehensive technical solutions for Magento 2 platform as Lead Architect and Full Stack Developer with the inclusion of integrating third party platforms
  • Performance Optimization: Maximize sales revenue by optimizing the overall user experience (checking out, canceling an order, voiding payment, issuing refunds, etc) for global customers
  • Integration Management: Implement and manage integrations with third-party services and enterprise systems (Boomi, SalesForce, HubSpot, PayPal and NetSuite)
  • Front-End Development: Design and implement user-friendly interfaces with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular
  • Back-End Development: Develop and maintain server-side logic, ensuring high performance and responsiveness using PHP and Magento 2
  • Security Assurance: Execute strategic initiatives enhancing the security measures of the Magento application, mitigating potential risks and maintaining compliance standards
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions on time
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve our platform

Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Magento 2 Expertise: Extensive experience developing (from scratch) and troubleshooting custom modules in Magento 2
  • Full Stack Proficiency: Strong skills in both front-end and back-end development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript (React/Angular), PHP, and MySQL)
  • API Integration: Proven experience in integrating with third-party APIs (Boomi, NetSuite, PayPal, HubSpot and SalesForce)
  • Version Control: Proficient in Git and CI/CD pipelines
  • Team Collaboration: Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Azure
  • Experience with agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and tools
