Job Summary:
Receives and processes incoming supplies and equipment, maintains inventory of supplies and completes department billing process.Job Responsibilities and Requirements:
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND PERFORMANCE CRITERIA (Percent of Time)
Essential Functions: The following are essential job accountabilities and performance criteria:
Position Accountabilities:
1) Distribution: Receives requests for supplies, selects stock from inventory and distributes supplies from inventory and distributes supplies within departmental time standards (1, 5) 30%
Criteria
A) Adheres to delivery standards.
B) Maintains appropriate paperwork.
C) Enters issues and transfers into the information system immediately.
D) Informs Director of delivery difficulties.
2) Receiving: Performs receiving function and assists in the movement of incoming supplies (1, 5) 20%
Criteria
A) Receives supplies and equipment, verifies description, count and weight.
B) Prints receiving document, matches packing slip to receiving document.
C) Reports discrepancies to appropriate buyer.
3) Inventory: Maintains General Storeroom inventory (1, 5) 10%
Criteria
A) Receives supplies, stocks shelves, and fills department orders.
B) Verifies computer/actual quantities on hand as requested.
4) Safety/Infection Control: Practices according to safety and infection control policies. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) 5%
Criteria
A) Practices universal precautions and disposes of hazardous wastes per established guidelines.
B) Maintains a safe, clean, comfortable and therapeutic environment for patients/families/employees in accordance with hospital standards.
1. Maintains clutter free environment.
2. Keeps conversations and background noise to a minimum.
3. Adheres to dress code.
C) Reports risk management concern.
D) Assumes responsibility for completing all annual mandatory requirements:
1. Safety/Fire
2. Blood Borne Pathogen
3. Hazardous Communication

5. Department Specific
6. Age Appropriate Care (if appropriate)
5) Service: Provides service excellence to the customers of Saint Louis University Hospital by delivering timely, high quality care in a courteous and respectful manner. (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) 10%
Criteria
A) Assumes responsibility and ownership in solving problems and resolving complaints.
B) Extends apologies as appropriate when service fails, and then takes immediate corrective actions.
C) Assumes initiative to resolve problems.
D) Recommends changes in practices that increase efficiency while minimizing waste.
