Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000

Position Summary:

The Assistant Scientist, under the supervision of Dr. Young-Jin Son in the Lewis Katz School of Medicine’s Center for Neural Development and Repair (CNDR), will serve as a lab manager/technician in a neurobiology laboratory. The lab employs mouse genetics, molecular, cellular, and behavioral approaches to study and restore damaged peripheral and spinal cord nerve connections.

Primary responsibilities include mouse genotyping and general laboratory management, with active participation in ongoing research projects. The successful candidate will perform experiments, assist other researchers, and contribute to data collection and analysis. Prior experience with mice, molecular, or biochemical techniques is strongly preferred.

Job Details:

* This is a grant funded position

Required Education and Experience:

* A bachelor's degree is required with two years of experience

* A minimum of 6 months of laboratory experience involving mice. 

* An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

Preferred Education and Experience:

* Master's Degree

Required Skills and Abilities:

* Working knowledge of applicable computer software and applicable professional principles.

* Strong organization and record-keeping skills to record experiment results and analyze data

* Effective communication skills

* Hands-on experience with mouse handling, Western blotting, and RT-PCR

* Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

* Excellent organization and communication skills.
