Job Summary

Join our electrical engineering department in Danbury, CT! The candidate hired for this position will be part of the Continuing Engineering department, working on the development of and maintenance/enhancement of Instrumentation and Control products for Naval and Commercial Nuclear applications.  In this role, it is expected that this engineer will be responsible for the completion of one or more technical activities of moderate complexity, on time and budget. Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems. Review customer specifications and requirements, develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable. Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments. Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services. Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements. May develop prototypes to retire key development risks. Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel. May lead and direct the work of others as assigned. May participate in the preparation of moderately complex and significant proposals.

What You Will Do

•    Design and development of state-of-the-art Instrumentation and Control systems for both naval and commercial nuclear applications
•    Duties will include circuit design, requirements and interface definition, modelling and analysis, testing, performance and design verification
•    Design and analyze Closed Loop Control Systems
•    Experience in both Analog and Digital design
•    Resolve complex issues related to architectural approaches, requirements, specifications, and design
•    Familiar with Power Supply Design and Distribution 
•    Troubleshoot and diagnose problems both remotely and in-house
•    Communicate with the customer and internal management as a technical expert in order to achieve cost effective, technically compliant solutions
•    Lead technical aspects of proposal preparation
•    Ability to plan and schedule the completion of multiple conflicting priorities
•    Provide schedule, and technical compliance updates to management in order to effectively manage the execution of tasks
•    Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company
•    Complete assigned tasks on time
•    Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
•    Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Education & Experience Requirements

• Recent experience with Nuclear Quality Assurance requirements, Specifically NQA-1 and 10CFR50 Appendix B, REQUIRED
• Electrical Engineering experience (5+ years) required 
• Less experience is acceptable when evaluated in conjunction with other basic qualifications; commensurate adjustment in salary range would be applied
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills to aid communications within the engineering community 
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint 
• Ability to work with engineering teams across product lines
• Ability to multitask and be able to address multiple issues in parallel
• Experience in support of manufacturing including but not limited to purchasing, quality control, manufacturing engineering and test
• Mus
