Job Description: FGS, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support the Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) in Suitland, Maryland. The successful candidate will provide engineering, administration, and operational support for a globally deployed Cisco-based enterprise network infrastructure supporting classified mission systems. The Network Engineer will design, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise routing, switching, encryption devices, LAN/WAN connectivity, and secure network services across multiple security enclaves.
The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience with Cisco routing and switching technologies, enterprise routing protocols, network security, and WAN architectures supporting Department of Defense and Intelligence Community operations. This individual will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for maintaining high availability, resolving complex network issues, and implementing network modernization initiatives while ensuring compliance with DoD cybersecurity requirements.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Engineer and troubleshoot enterprise Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), Metropolitan Area Networks (MAN), and secure point-to-point connections.
- Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Type 1 and commercial encryption devices supporting classified communications.
- Configure and troubleshoot dynamic routing protocols including OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, and static routing.
- Analyze routing tables, neighbor relationships, route redistribution, convergence issues, and routing loops.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting using packet captures, protocol analyzers, SNMP, NetFlow, syslog, and network monitoring tools.
- Configure and maintain VLANs, trunking, Spanning Tree Protocol (STP), EtherChannel, HSRP/VRRP, and Quality of Service (QoS).
- Administer WAN technologies including MPLS, leased circuits, VPNs, GRE tunnels, IPSec tunnels, and encrypted transport.
- Configure and maintain Cisco Firepower, Cisco IOS-XE, IOS, NX-OS, and Catalyst platforms.
- Support enterprise network segmentation, multicast, ACLs, NAT, and secure network architectures.
- Perform network fault isolation across multiple classified and unclassified enclaves.
- Coordinate circuit activations, telecommunications providers, and remote site connectivity.
- Develop and maintain network diagrams, routing documentation, configuration baselines, and engineering change documentation.
- Participate in maintenance windows, technology refreshes, disaster recovery exercises, and continuity of operations planning.
- Provide Tier III engineering support for complex network outages and performance issues.
- Support implementation of cybersecurity requirements including STIG compliance, vulnerability remediation, and secure configuration management.
- Travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations to support network installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting as required.
- U.S. Citizenship
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II or IAM Level I Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related field (or additional 3 years relevant experience in lieu of degree)
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the following:
- Enterprise network engineering and systems administration
- Cisco Firepower administration and troubleshooting
- Secure network architectures supporting global operations
- Systems integration and lifecycle support
- Configuration management and documentation
- Network security best practices and hardening
- Deployment and sustainment of COTS/GOTS applications in classified environments
Desired Qualification:
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
