: NEXCOMHQ Pay Range: $63,559 - $82,049 Based upon experienceJob Summary: Integral part of Code F team who is primary back-up for Headquarters Accounting Manager; directly responsible for Concession business accountability valued at over $166 Million; supervises the Project Accounting Technician with oversight to the reporting of project related capital expenditures of approximately $54 Million per year.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervises Project Accounting Technician and provides job-related training, sets and enforces performance standards, approves leave, and appraises performance
- Serves as financial point of contact for Navy Exchange centralized concession operations and as such reviews concession contracts, monthly concessionaire sales and commission reports as well as register readings when available, to ensure reasonableness of sales reporting, compliance with financial terms of agreements, and accurate commission calculations and then prepares appropriate entries to properly record and distribute concession sales and income to the exchanges; notifies Code K and Operations of discrepancies in commission calculations, reported sales, and delinquent payments for action; receives and monitors concession commission payments; monitors accounts receivable balances and makes appropriate adjustments as necessary; assists exchange personnel and headquarters personnel as well as Concessionaires and other 3rd party personnel with questions and concerns regarding centralized concession financial reporting.
- Prepares financial analyses and reports regarding concession operations for Food Services Operations personnel, Contracts personnel, and 3rd party interests; in addition, reports are posted to NEXCOM intranet (NEXWEB) for use by exchange and field personnel.
- Calculates monies due 3rd parties under concession and vending contracts and initiates payments.
- Analyzes banking transactions, treasury reports, and loan pay out schedules related to Navy Exchange bank loans and revolving line of credit in order to calculate and properly record the short and long term debt balance and interest expense on debt, making adjustment, payment, and accrual entries as necessary.
- Reviews Navy Exchange program investment portfolio and banking transactions and calculates and properly records certificate of deposit and repurchase agreements financial transactions including interest earned on investments, making adjustment, payment, and accrual entries as necessary.
- Reviews AAFES Catalog Distribution of Earnings/Loss worksheet and calculates and distributes the Navy share of catalog profits / losses between the Navy Exchange program and the Ship Store program; initiates payment to Ship Store program.
