Senior Operations Engineer Information Security
Position Summary
The Senior Security Operations Engineer will be responsible for the daily duties associated with NYP’s Security Operations Support team including the extension of services provided to all of NYP’s campus and regional affiliates. Designs, implements, analyze, and modify new and existing programs and systems for business or patient care needs. Ensures the performance, integrity and reliability of system components. Determines user specifications for hardware and software needs. Works independently in a professional, high-tech environment to oversee sophisticated and specialty technology. This is a multi-dimensional role, partnering closely with peer teams inside the Information Security department, and business partners across a large, multi-campus healthcare organization. This role will focus heavily on operational and strategic level tasks and provide counsel and guidance to the junior level security engineers in the department. The Senior engineer also serves in an architectural capacity, providing the appropriate information and planning required for new technology and policy deployments.
Essential Job Duties
- Responsible for the daily duties associated with NYP’s Security Operations team including the extension of services provided to all of NYP’s campus and regional affiliates
- Collects and disseminates reports, metrics, within ServiceNow
- Partners with the Identity management team to provide support for automation tasks for the groups mission
- Creates, updates and maintains project plans and provide design and installation/support documentation. As needed, creates or modifies change management procedures as per departmental standards
- Designs, configures and installs new programs, modifications or enhancements to existing systems. Analyzes modifications or enhancements to determine impact on existing production systems
- Develops test plans, test data and testing schedules. Conducts unit and system tests to verify results of software solutions in development as well as postproduction
- Create and reactivate CWID for new and rehire employees
- Provides technical customer support for all applications own by information Security
- Performs analysis of business and user needs, documenting requirements, and revising existing system logic as necessary. Trains end users in use of equipment and software
- Provides technical customer support by monitoring production systems and responding to incidents
- Provides technical customer support by monitoring production systems and responding to incidents
- Coordinates application development and migration with developers from multiple teams
- Provides support during non-working hours to ensure the operation of production systems in a 24 x 7 environment
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or engineering discipline; or equivalent experience
- Strong organization skills to prioritize work/life balance and lead complex projects
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with customers, senior level personnel, subordinates, and team members
- Strong leadership skills to explain and guide peer business partners with remediation
- Strong initiative, good customer service, organization, oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and experience with Active Directory and ServiceNow
- Unix command line Knowledge
- Strong organization skills to prioritize work/life balance and lead complex projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with customers, senior level personnel, subordinates, and team members.
- Strong leadership skills to explain and guide peer business partners with remediation.
- 3-5 years of previous work-related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or major in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline
