Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. This position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position

Are you an innovative and enthusiastic animal advocate looking to play a key role in finding shelter animals their forever home?  

 

As an Alternative Placement Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating efforts to increase the placement of sheltered pets out of Maricopa County Animal Care and Control (MCACC) care. This includes those animals in need of critical and/or temporary support with the goal of efficiently placing them into permanent or temporary transfer outlets. This position requires the employee to be in the office and or customer-facing for all hours worked.

East Valley- 1920 S Lewis, Mesa, AZ 85210  

West Valley- 2500 S. 27th Ave, Phoenix, AZ 85009

We Require

  • Two years of experience working with animals in an animal welfare organization, veterinary facility, humane society, or similar animal care facility; may include volunteer work
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis

We Also Value

  • Additional skills with animal behavior and handling techniques  
  • Experience working in a high-volume customer service job 
  • Experience handling newborn and young dogs and cats
