About the role

The Manager of Molecular Imaging will oversees the daily operations of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Center, Nuclear Medicine, and Nuclear Infusions at Keck Medical Center. The Manager will balance clinical excellence, personnel management, and regulatory compliance to ensure high-quality patient outcomes. The role ensures accurate and timely performance of diagnostic test with responsibility to supervise, hire, and evaluate technical and support staff by competency assessments and ongoing professional development. The Manager will also ensure strict adherence to healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and hospital policies. Proactively identify safety risks and drive process improvement initiatives. Monitor departmental budgets, oversee equipment procurement, and optimize resource allocation. Work closely with radiologists, cardiologists, department leadership, and other healthcare professionals to standardize the Keck Theranostics Center workflows. The Manager of Molecular Imaging is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall Molecular Imaging operations within the Imaging Services Department. This position provides supervision to technical imaging staff/support staff, including providing team member coaching, counseling, and mentoring. In addition, this position must be able to lead operational functions to include but not limited to patient/customer satisfaction, administrative responsibilities, information, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, clinical performance and all patient care within radiology imaging.

The Imaging Services Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall operation of the Imaging Services Department. This position provides supervision to technical imaging staff/support staff, including providing team member coaching, counseling, and mentoring. In addition, this position must be able to lead operational functions to include but not limited to patient/customer satisfaction, administrative responsibilities, information, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, clinical performance and all patient care within radiology imaging.

Essential Duties

  • Directs daily operations by continually planning, managing, implementing and evaluating operations/services to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness. Analyzes and plans for the needs of the department. Establishes staffing requirements, responsible for approving PTO, and creating/amending staff schedules. Plans for the appropriate utilization of resources by assessing volumes and acuity/complexity of patients to determine staffing levels.
  • Assumes 24-hour responsibility for assigned areas. Works with staff to ensure proper charging of procedures to optimize reimbursement; maintains and updates team with cpt code changes. Monitors quality, patient safety and patient satisfaction; oversees implementation of measures to improve. Supports and facilities care management practice in conjunction with hospital protocols.
  • Partners and responds to the needs and issues originating from staff, patients, families, physicians, community, or other hospital departments. Develops and implements policies and procedures to ensure effective and efficient operations consistent with hospital and system philosophy, policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency standards (i.e., federal, state, city, DNV, IDPH) and all hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintains an effective working relationship with internal and external customers. Collaborates with physicians, management and other health care professionals to assure delivery of quality care, patient satisfaction and continual use of services. Networks with peers to assure that administrative and clinical standards integrate with department and hospital services. Networks with professionals at other healthcare facilities for benchmarking. Actively participates in hospital committees and projects (CQI project, hospital projects, etc.) as well as coordinates activities with various other hospital departments to ensure patient satisfaction as well as cost effectiveness. Responsible for personal and professional growth and development. Stays abreast of current standards of care via literature, educational events, internal and external resources and internal/external networking. Maintains memberships in professional and community organizations.
  • Maintains specialty certification if applicable. Participates in activities to enhance professional growth by involvement in professional organizations and continuing education. Performs human resources responsibilities for staff which include interviewing and selection of new employees, promotions, staff development, performance evaluations, compensation changes, resolution of employee concerns, corrective actions, terminations, and overall employee morale.
