Technical Product Development Analyst (Linux, Unix, Mac)
VeeamAbout the role
Company Description
Veeam is a leading provider of backup and recovery software for virtual, physical and cloud environments.
Different Veeam departments take care of every phase of the solution life cycle: development and testing, implementation through an extensive partner network, and technical support in multiple languages.
Veeam builds products to meet complex backup and data management challenges. We work with VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V and Nutanix AHV virtualization; Windows, Linux and Unix physical systems; Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL, Oracle and SAP HANA servers; Amazon, Azure and Google Cloud public clouds; and many other technologies that form the core of modern IT.
The Product Management team is in constant communication with the outside world – customers and partners – keeping its finger on the pulse of the IT universe. Planning new features and defining a development plan are primary tasks, which is why the ability to spot and prioritize trends in the turbulent flow of IT is so essential.
We are looking for a Technical Product Development Analyst to help the Product Manager improve the company’s products for non-Windows operating systems (Linux, Unix, Mac).
Job Description
Your tasks will include:
- Developing a deep understanding of Veeam products: understanding how things work and why something has been built the way it has;
- Identifying pain points: finding areas that can be improved to achieve even greater customer satisfaction;
- Proactively and creatively formulating new ideas and solutions, presenting them and defending them;
- Developing a use-case roadmap in collaboration with the Product Manager;
- Staying up to date on relevant topics and trends.
Qualifications
What we expect from you:
- Hands-on experience in IT (3-4 years as an admin, technical support engineer, or similar role). Ideally, you particularly enjoy working with non-Windows operating systems;
- Experience in operating systems deployment and configuration (Linux and Windows are the bare minimum);
- At least basic knowledge of virtualization solutions (VMware, Hyper-V, AHV or KVM);
- Experience documenting technical ideas in a concise manner;
- The ability to give a simple explanation in response to a complicated question or problem (aka “ELI5”);
- A willingness to dig through a lot of information to find answers to questions that you may not fully understand (yet);
- Fluent English, both written and spoken. You must be able to communicate your thoughts clearly and effectively in English.
Additional Information
We offer:
- Excellent professional and career opportunities in the international team of talented and energetic people.
- Flexible working hours, no bureaucracy or formalism.
- Professional trainings and education, including courses and conferences, internal meetups and unlimited access to online library.
- Statutory insurances, statutory pension plan & supplementary pension plan.
- Accident insurance: Worldwide 24/7 coverage of accident cases.
