Job Description

Help build the foundation of Rabobank’s digital platform. As a Senior Back-End Engineer at Skunk Works in Utrecht, you’ll develop scalable solutions that empower dozens of teams. Read on or apply now.

You & your role

Design robust backend services that strengthen Rabobank’s digital infrastructure. As a Senior Back-End Engineer, you’ll work in a small, high-impact team that develops reusable components and patterns for Cloud Foundry, Azure and AWS. You’ll accelerate feature delivery by removing friction and raising quality standards.

We are Skunk Works, a small, high-impact engineering team within the Foundation area of Rabobank’s Tribe Digital Platform. Our mission is to make life easier for product teams by delivering reliable, scalable, and consistent backend building blocks, plus the guidance to use them well. 

Think of us as the “Ikea of backend engineering”, but with everything in the box and a manual that actually helps. We solve recurring Cloud Foundry and cloud-native challenges, offer reusable components and patterns, and jump in hands-on when teams need support to ship with confidence.

• Develop scalable backend services in Kotlin/Java using Spring Boot and GraphQL, including CI/CD and monitoring.

• Increase reliability and security of cloud-native applications on Azure, AWS and Cloud Foundry.

• Improve documentation and guide teams in using reusable components and architectural standards.

You’ll work in a team that continuously improves and takes ownership of templates, starter kits and golden paths.

You & your talent

• 5+ years building backend applications with Kotlin/Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Gateway and JPA/Hibernate.  

• Handson experience with cloudnative architectures and Azure (bonus: AWS) and microservices.  

• A track recor
