HPD is entrusted with fulfilling these objectives through the goals and strategies of “Housing Our Neighbors: A Blueprint for Housing and Homelessness,” Mayor Adams’ comprehensive housing framework. To support this important work, the administration has committed $5 billion in new capital funding, bringing the 10-year planned investment in housing to $22 billion the largest in the city’s history. This investment, coupled with a commitment to reduce administrative and regulatory barriers, is a multi-pronged strategy to tackle New York City’s complex housing crisis, by addressing homelessness and housing instability, promoting economic stability and mobility, increasing homeownership opportunities, improving health and safety, and increasing opportunities for equitable growth.



Your Team:


Housing Preservation & Development Technology (HPD Tech) is the IT division within HPD. The Office of HPD Tech leads the agency’s effort to transform HPD through technology, promoting productivity, eliminating manual processing, reducing costs, and increasing the pace of work. HPD Tech works to enhance the effectiveness of business processes by leveraging core applications for seamless execution. HPD Tech empowers decision makers with access to quality (complete and accurate) information to anticipate and proactively react to building, neighborhood, and market conditions.


The Office of HPDTech is composed of 7 units: CIO (Chief Information Officer), CTO (Chief Technology Officer), CPO (Chief Product Officer), Budget, Enterprise Architecture, Planning & Compliance, and Information Security.


Your Impact:


As a Project Coordinator for the Division of HPD Tech, you will assist with technology initiatives supporting the HPD Office.



Your Role:



In this role, you will work closely with project managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to support the coordination of technology solutions that product verticals in fulfilling their mission objectives. This position focuses on assisting with project planning, organizing resources, tracking progress, and maintaining documentation in alignment with the agency's standards and policies. You will play a key supporting role in ensuring that technology projects remain organized and on schedule while collaborating with teams across the organization. Additionally, you will contribute to PMO Intake and Governance processes by facilitating the intake of new project requests, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities, and supporting governance activities such as compliance reviews, reporting, and adherence to project lifecycle methodologies



Your Responsibilities:


Key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


- Project Coordination & Support

o Assist with the organization and tracking of project activities, timelines, and deliverables.

o Support project managers by helping translate business needs into clear, trackable technical tasks.

o Maintain project schedules, task lists, and resource tracking tools to keep teams aligned.


- Team & Stakeholder Collaboration

o Coordinate meetings, document discussions, and follow up on action items with technical and business teams.

o Support project leads in facilitating communication between technical teams, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.

o Assist with gathering feedback, preparing reports, and monitoring project progress.


- Compliance & Risk Tracking

o Help maintain accurate project documentation, status reports, and project plans.

o Support project leads in identifying risks and tracking mitigation efforts.

o Assist with the preparation of contingency plans, under the guidance of project managers.


- Technical Coordination (Non-Hands-On)

o Facilitate communication between technical teams and functional stakeholders to ensure alignment of technical solutions with business objectives.

o Assist with coordinating project activities related to system development, testing, and deployment without direct technical implementation responsibilities.
