We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Dir Environmental and Sustainability Data & Systems within our Environmental & Sustainability group based in Denver, CO or Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities:

The Director Environmental and Sustainability Data & Systems position is responsible for:

  • Supporting Oxy’s Environmental and Sustainability department, including Air Quality, Environmental, Global Sustainable Solutions and Sustainability functions, to advance Oxy’s sustainability efforts;
  • Managing a team of direct reports, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals;
  • Leading the strategic vision to achieve Oxy's Environmental and Sustainability (E&S) digital ambition by aligning sustainability efforts with the overall business strategy;
  • Defining data management and system needs for E&S functions’ data and reporting requirements;
  • Driving continuous improvement by identifying and implementing systems to efficiently collect, manage and reconcile data and generate reports to enhance transparency of key E&S-related data;
  • Developing standardized controls and procedures for E&S data management in support of mandatory and voluntary reporting and data assurance requirements;
  • Dissecting complex regulatory requirements both domestically and internationally and identifying commonalities in support of enterprise-wide solutions for E&S data management and systems;
  • Evaluating new technologies and innovative approaches to improve data management (e.g., AI, robotic processing automation, automated workflows, data reconciliation, etc.);
  • Monitoring changing regulations and/or emerging trends/issues to keep at the forefront of changing E&S data needs and reporting requirements;
  • Expanding intra-company collaboration with cross-functional teams for coordination of E&S-related data management with Health & Safety and other business functions;
  • Develop, review, maintain, and enhance E&S dashboards and reports for internal and external stakeholders;
  • Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, computer science, earth sciences, or minimum 20 years equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading teams.
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft suite of applications including Power BI) for analysis, review and reporting of data.
  • Good analytical and quantitative data management skills.
  • Experience with data management systems to benchmark and synthesize data and communicate internally trends and insights.
  • Knowledge of greenhouse gas emissions, climate-related risks, environmental issues, social and ESG-related issues, and the domestic and international regulatory reporting landscape.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues to broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to drive continuous improvement, identifying ways for managing E&S data more efficiently and effectively.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Prior energy, materials, utilities or capital-goods industry experience preferred.
  • Corporate E&S-related reporting experience in a multi-national business context preferred.

 

Relocation will not be provided.

The salary range for this position is:$ 205,600 - $ 282,700 Annual
