PATH is committed to strengthening integrated services and systems across health areas, and deepening access to integrated life-course primary health care (PHC) in the communities it serves. PATH seeks a Senior Technical Advisor to drive the coverage and quality of integrated services. This position will be part-time at 60% LOE and will report to the Global Program Director, PHC.

The Senior Technical Advisor will offer leading expertise in integrated infectious disease testing, prevention and treatment service design, delivery, and implementation science. They will provide hands-on technical quality strengthening across a range of PHC projects, and lead the development of standard operating procedures (SOPs), training packages, client-facing materials, implementation science research protocols, and other essential tools and materials. They will also participate in communicating the impact of integrated efforts through journal articles, abstracts, and blogs, and lead on focused business development.

Responsibilities:

Technical & Product Development

  • Provide expert leadership in leading in design, delivery, and implementation science of integrated infectious disease testing, prevention and treatment services.
  • Take leadership of specific technical elements of projects with a priority focus on tools and materials development (such as SOPs, training packages).
  • Lead development of policy briefs, peer reviewed articles, programmatic guidance documents, or other knowledge products that synthesize project findings and provide actionable recommendations for country implementation and scale-up.
  • Provide technical support to country partners in the development, delivery and measurement of integrated services including through codesign, mentoring, delivery training, and facilitating learning exchanges.
  • Support country introduction of specific health products advanced through the PHC program.
  • Facilitate sharing of best practices, lessons learned, and innovative approaches across projects, promote embedding continuous quality improvement approaches and adaptive learning
  • Lead or support development and roll-out of implementation science protocols.
  • Engage with GFATM, GAVI, WHO and other stakeholders on work to advance integrated services and systems.
  • Develop and/or review technical presentations, abstracts, journal articles, blogs, for a range of stakeholders / purposes.
  • Oversee technical staff through a matrixed management approach.
  • Represent the PHC program technically at relevant TWGs, fora, and meetings.
  • Lead or support proposal and concept note development.

Required skills and experience:

  • Advanced degree in public health, international development, or related field.
  • 10 or more years in global health programming experience with a focus on technical leadership.
  • Experience in driving integrated approaches.
  • Experience in PHC, self-care, HIV, STIs, viral hepatitis, and/or maternal, newborn, child health.
  • Experience in designing and implementing technical tools and products including training curricula, guidelines, SOPs, and research protocols.
  • Leading technical expertise in integrated infectious diseases prevention, testing and treatment.
