Be at the forefront of change and become part of the innovative and forward-thinking academic team at the University of Michigan-Flint's Public Health & Health Sciences Department in the rapidly expanding College of Health Sciences. The Respiratory Therapy Program at UM-Flint is seeking a LEO Lecturer I for the Fall 2026 semester to teach RSP 400 - Advanced Adult Critical Care at 25% effort. This is an online asynchronous course.

Course Description: Focus on advanced critical care, including management of the difficult airway, administration of specialty gases, techniques to enhance ventilation and oxygenation, disease management, diagnostic testing, nutritional status evaluation, patient transport and end of life issues. Designed to aid in preparation for the Adult Critical Care Specialty (ACCS) credential awarded by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). 

Responsibilities

The LEO Lecturer I will provide course instruction through lectures, discussion boards, and case studies; grade assignments, quizzes, and tests; and work collaboratively with department faculty.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Master's degree in Respiratory Therapy or related field
• Active credentials as Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
• One year of teaching experience in related discipline in clinical or academic setting
• Three years of full-time professional experience in Respiratory Therapy or related discipline

Desired Qualifications

• Experience as an instructor in an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program

Modes of Work

Remote/Mobile

The work requirements allow for the majority or all of the work to be completed offsite.  On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements, but is not generally scheduled on a recurring basis.
