Business Administrator BJob Description Summary
The Business Administrator reports directly to the Director of Finance and Administration.This position oversees the financial operations including payroll, procurement, receivables, budget monitoring and reporting for multiple departments managed by the Finance and Administration Team. Duties include managing the purchase order (PO) process, approving Non-PO requests forms, reallocating purchasing card transactions, processing payroll, preparing journal entries and receiving payables as needed.
This position will also be responsible for higher level analysis and budget monitoring including reconciling monthly transactions and running financial reporting.
This role will ensure the Finance and Administration Department is utilizing the best financial transaction practices in accordance with Division of Finance by staying up to date on financial policies and serving on university wide committees.
This position is categorized as essential personnel (24 hours/ 7 days), which may require weekend assignments and holiday assignments.
Job Description
Job Responsibilities
Manage the purchase order (PO) process, Non-PO requests forms, purchasing card transactions, and preparing journal entries as needed and generating/reviewing purchase order reports for departments
Reviews, analyzes, summarizes and interprets financial data. Monitors and prepares financial reports on all financial activity for the department.
Responsible for accurate and timely payroll processing, including exempt, non-exempt and hourly staff and students
Process other transactions related to the Division’s financial activities, including cash and check deposits, purchasing, payables and reimbursement
