Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Engineering Technician to join our manufacturing facility in St. George, Utah. The Engineering Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of various manufacturing machinery, including CNC milling machines, robotic welders, CNC saws, and punch machines. The primary responsibility of this role will be to perform needed repairs, preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting to ensure that the various machines, tooling, and fixturing used by the manufacturing crew members consistently hold tolerance and maintain maximum up-time. Additionally, the role involves the development and upkeep of programs for the various manufacturing machines used at the facility. The successful candidate will also contribute to CAD/CAM design work, machining parts for fixtures, engineering prototypes, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing process.

Requirements

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance on various manufacturing machinery, including CNC milling machines, robotic welders, CNC saws, and punch machines.
  • Develop programs for manufacturing machinery.
  • Maintain fixtures and programs for manufacturing machinery.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to design and develop CAD/CAM models and programs using SolidWorks and Fusion360.
  • Machine parts for fixtures using CNC equipment and traditional machining tools.
  • Assist in the creation of engineering prototypes and participate in testing and evaluation.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent technical certification in Engineering Technology or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a role involving maintenance of CNC machinery.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion360) and CNC programming.
  • Experience with machining operations and familiarity with machining tools and equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and willingness to take on new challenges.
