The Work You Will Do:

Highway Maintenance Technician II / District Four / District Maintenance / Ft. Laud Maint - Roadway Repair  

 

In this position, you will operate various vehicles and heavy equipment for bridge and roadway maintenance, perform minor equipment maintenance, and assist with repairs and cleaning. Lead and coordinate the work of a maintenance crew, including planning tasks, selecting materials, maintaining records, and preparing reports. Also perform manual labor, temporary traffic control, basic carpentry, masonry, painting, and help install highway signs. Train crew members in equipment operation and traffic control procedures.

Annual Salary Range:

$36,554.24 - $47,305.48

A Competitive Area Differential (CAD) additive in the amount of $1,934.40 will be added to the annual salary.

 

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Upon receipt of the required CDL Instructional permit or license, operates a variety of vehicles and mechanized equipment to include backhoe, tractors with attachments, crew cabs, and dump truck.  Performs pre-trip inspection/minor maintenance on vehicles/equipment that they are operating.  Cleans and washes equipment. 

Uses a variety of hand, pneumatic, and electrical tools to maintain bridges and roadways.  Performs independent manual labor incidental to job assignments at an intermediate level of complexity with minimal supervision. 

Performs rough carpentry, masonry, painting and/or assist in the assembly and erection of highway signs.

Performs Temporary Traffic Control (Maintenance of Traffic).
