Director, Global Investigations - Organized Retail Crime

Location: Bentonville, Arkansas

About the Role:

Lead and manage a successful team of field investigators across the wide range of organized retail crime cases, maximizing analytical insight and in collaboration with law enforcement agencies.

What you’ll do: 

• Based at the Home Office you will lead and manage a team of highly skilled Organized Retail Crime (ORC) investigators who work remotely across the US.
• Supporting the development of highly complex investigations focused on ORC and other significant risks to Walmart’s business that could also include misappropriation, personal conduct, and major crime across multiple business segments.
• Adopt a working partnership with Asset Protection, the IROCC, Legal Investigations to successfully close cases.
• Execute a proactive strategy for Investigations maximizing analytics to identify potential risk trends.
• Liaison with law enforcement and retail trade associates to share best practice and intelligence.
• Collaborate with leadership and internal business partners to remediate process gaps identified through investigations.
• Support the investigators in developing investigative theory using specialized techniques to gather and evaluate evidence to perform analysis and draw findings.
• Be the subject matter expert in your team’s case work.
• Review reports ready for closure to ensure they meet internal and statutory requirements.
• Promote` and support company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
• On call support through a roster to respond to critical incidents through a war room operation.
• Travel to visit the investigators and for other key partnerships.

What you’ll bring:

• You are a proven leader able to support and manage remote investigators.
• You are a self-starter and have experience in ORC investigations and have a proactive investigative mindset.
• You have a proven track record in conducting complex investigations.
• You possess exceptional written communication skills and the proven ability to understand and present complex information to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
• You have experience of liaison with law enforcement and government agencies.
• You are comfortable with ambiguity and a self-starter, capable of interfacing with Walmart’s business platforms to present investigative findings and identified risks.
• You can leverage proactive analytics and large datasets to identify trends. 
• You demonstrate advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and can learn new software tools with minimal training.
