Job Description
Teach a variety of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration courses.
Design and teach courses in the approved curriculum using teaching methods that support the success of diverse students.
Assess student academic achievement at classroom, department, and college level.
Participate in the department, as well as the larger college community, through a variety of activities (e.g., curriculum development, program review, service on committees, student clubs, professional development activities, etc.).
Maintain and manage lab space and classrooms utilized by the program.
Mentor and advise students.
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, and as part of the Industry pathway team.
Salary Range:
Salary and benefits will be based on the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Salary min: $43,067
Salary max: $94,542*
*Initial salary placement could go up to $71,893
Minimum Qualifications
Education Requirement
Diploma or the completion of an apprenticeship in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installation and repair.
Occupational Experience Requirement
Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in residential or commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration installation and repair.
Recency Requirement
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
Preferred Qualification
Field experience as a refrigeration technician.
College level teaching experience in HVAC-R courses.
Expertise and experience in multiple teaching modalities.
Demonstrated student centered approach to teaching and learning.
Ability to maintain, repair and replace lab equipment and supplies.
Evidence of working with budgets, ordering supplies and inventory.
Experience with curriculum development and assessing student academic achievement.
Demonstrated success working with a student body of diverse cultures, situations, interests, and abilities.
