Position Overview
United Health Services (UHS) is seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Float Pool, supporting Medical Surgical / Telemetry and Critical Care units across Wilson Medical Center and Binghamton General Hospital.This role offers nurses the opportunity to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a variety of clinical environments while broadening skills, building confidence, and gaining valuable exposure across specialties. Ideal candidates are adaptable, clinically confident professionals with strong Med‑Surg, Telemetry, and Critical Care experience who excel in fast‑paced, ever‑changing settings.

There is more than one location associated with this position. This is either because there are multiple openings at different sites, or the successful candidate will be required to float across multiple UHS facilities. Primary Work Shift:

$44.77 - $67.15 per hour, depending on experienceYou will be eligible for benefits if you are hired into a regular position with at least 24 scheduled weekly hours.

Responsibilities:
Assesses, plans, delegates, coordinates, implements and evaluates nursing care in managing a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse, when designated by unit assignment and consideration of factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost and impact.
Educates patient and family in health promotion and disease management using available resources.
Utilizes a working knowledge of pharmacology and safely administers medications according to UHS Hospitals policy.
Shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resources utilization including staffing, time management, supplies and services.
Complies with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and UHS policies.
Actively participates in and supports the Nursing Shared Governance Model by supporting the Unit Council, participating in improvement initiatives, and contributing to peer review practices.
Actively engages in professional development, continuing nursing education, and completing all mandatory education requirements.
Integrates nursing research and current evidence into practice.
Provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
Performs duties related to the Charge Nurse or Shift Coordinator role when assigned.
