Senior Platform/Systems Engineer

From digitizing governments to improving healthcare and enabling modern telecom services, our projects already touch the lives of over half a billion people worldwide.</p> <p>As a <strong>Senior Platform/Systems Engineer,</strong> you’ll help build our vision of a Seamless Society by driving modernization through containerization and cloud-ready environments.</p> <h2>Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Package legacy systems into Docker for local developer environments and future cloud migration.</li> <li>Ensure reproducible, developer-friendly environments to accelerate modernization.</li> <li>Work closely with developers, architects, and stakeholders to remove blockers.</li> <li>Support integration of legacy binaries into containerized workloads.</li> <li>Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and automation for smoother deployments.</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <p><strong>Core expertise</strong></p> <ul> <li>7+ years in Linux system engineering and DevOps.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of Docker, container networking, and debugging.</li> <li>Experience running Linux workloads on Windows (WSL2, kernel integration).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Modernization skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, build automation, and developer enablement.</li> <li>Experience wrapping legacy binaries for container execution.</li> <li>Basic SQL knowledge; Oracle experience a plus.</li> <li>Knowledge of C considered an advantage.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Consulting &amp; communication</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to work directly with customer architects and stakeholders.</li> <li>Excellent English communication and documentation skills.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Mindset</strong></p> <ul> <li>Problem-solver who thrives on untangling 20+ years of legacy complexity.</li> <li>Hands-on across code, infra, and DB boundaries.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Nice to have</strong></p> <ul> <li>Telco industry experience, especially promotional engines.</li> </ul> <p>We like to say that Nortal is a right-sized company – big enough to undertake and impact influential projects yet small enough to care.
