Job Description:
We are seeking a Sales Technical Specialist to support our Aftermarket Sales team by analyzing competitor data and developing strategic insights. This role involves equipping the Sales team with the skills and tools needed to compete effectively. The specialist will assess process-related issues, provide solutions, and guide both Sales representatives and customers on the advantages and disadvantages of BWP and competitive equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the Sales team and less experienced Sales personnel regarding Baltimore products.
Act as a technical consultant to prepare Sales representatives for customer visits.
Assist in developing training materials for the Sales team on our Finishing products.
Research main competitive equipment and develop educational materials (Knowledge Briefs) for the Sales team.
Create persuasive counterarguments highlighting our products' strengths and exposing competitors' weaknesses.
Serve as a liaison between customers, the Sales team, and the company on complex product questions.
Report quality issues to Engineering and suggest corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain positive relationships with customers.
Prepare and submit reports as required.
Competencies
Thorough understanding of the Sales process.
Expert-level knowledge of BWP Finishing product lines and a firm understanding of ancillary products used in full-line systems.
Consultant-level knowledge of printing, inks, and paper qualities to troubleshoot production issues.
Proficiency with MS Office and the ability to learn and work with database systems.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to independently solve problems while interacting with various teams.
Capability to multitask, maintain a positive attitude, and be versatile and flexible.
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or GED; training/degree equivalent to 2 years’ technical college or bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.
6+ years technical background, sales experience a plus
