In this position... 

Ford Non-Production Supply Chain are seeking an experienced Buyer to back fill a position supporting Industrial Facilities and Construction throughout the US & Canada. This position is responsible for the strategic sourcing, procurement, and contract management of services related to paving, roofing, environmental engineering, testing, and demolition. The ideal candidate will support our manufacturing plants by ensuring that facility infrastructure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with strict environmental, safety, and regulatory standards.

What you'll do...

Working directly with our Ford Land teams & our approved commodity partnered contractors to:

  • Strategically Source Project: Manage end-to-end procurement for facility services, including site paving (asphalt/concrete), industrial roofing, and structural repairs. 
  • Engineering & Environmental Services: Procure and manage contracts for architectural and environmental engineering studies, including soil testing, site assessments, and remediation services.
  • Abatement & Demolition: Manage vendor selection and contracting for hazardous material abatement (asbestos, mold) and building decommissioning/demolition, ensuring strict adherence to environmental regulations.

  • Contract Negotiation & Compliance: Negotiate terms, pricing, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Ensure all contracts comply with safety regulations, insurance requirements, and corporate policies.

  • Project Collaboration: Work closely with Facilities Management, Plant Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) & 3rd party Cost Estimating teams to define project specifications and validate costs.

  • Advance project strategies & sourcing recommendations through respective GCST Step #1 & Step #2 approvals.
  • Perform Blanket order review as needed per guidelines.
  • Deliver 10% total savings target, including avoidance, cash enhancements and cost efficiencies, 3% efficiencies sub-target expenditures.

You'll have...

Minimum

  • Bachelor's Degree 
  • 7+ years of experience in purchasing/procurement. 
  • Familiarity with construction, engineering, or facility management industries is a plus.

This position is a range of salary grades 7-8 and ranges from $84,480-162,120.

Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
