Brown and Caldwell is hiring a Sr. Program Manager in Maryland!
The successful candidate will work with a team to implement a large program for a major utility. In this critical role, the candidate will deal with complex issues, and managing capital planning, design and engineering, and construction phase efforts. Candidate will provide overall management support for multiple projects to ensure they all move together toward meeting the overall program objectives and goals. As such, the successful candidate will delegate projects to subordinate engineers and technical staff, supervise their work, and provide consultation in specialized areas. In addition, the candidate must have the ability to coordinate multiple engineers, consultants, contractors and other parties in high-paced environment and be able to act as an extension of client’s staff, providing input and collaborating on decisions. It is critical for the candidate to be strong communicator and to be able to influence others in order to accomplish objectives in this key role.
Detailed Description:
- Plan, design, and implement large-scale water facilities to meet program goals
- Develop scope, schedule and budget for engineering proposals
- Provide key project management support
- Facilitate project delivery and execution (including managing sub-consultants)
- Interact with client, discipline leaders and assigned staff, to confirm work is progressing per schedule and budget and that the work is being developed to the appropriate level of completeness and quality
- Simplify complex topics for non-technical audiences and prepare quick pointed summaries for executives and stakeholders
- Prepare complex technical reports and other deliverables
- Perform quality reviews for planning, engineering, administrative and construction tasks
- Supervise multiple individuals and teams for an effective and engaged team
- Facilitate and lead change management and risk management for large projects or programs
- Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills and Experience:
- BS degree in Civil, Environmental, or related Engineering field required; MS degree preferred
- 15+ years of experience in municipal water/wastewater utility engineering and construction preferred
- E. license required
- PMP certification from the Project Management Institute desirable
- Extensive experience in the planning, design, and execution of large-scale water/wastewater infrastructure facilities
- Experience in multi-stakeholder coordination to implement projects
- Previous proven and successful program management experience on the delivery of large infrastructure projects as either the lead or in an assistant program manager role with ability to obtain direct client references.
- Strong planning experience through design and construction of large municipal and/or infrastructure projects
- Strong communication skills i.e. ability to communicate orally and in writing - across functions and teams
- Experience with project control methodology, schedule, budget and document management
- Ability to influence people to get things done
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to proactively deal with conflict
- Highly motivated self-starter with a passion to accomplish capital projects
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Suite of products
- Valid drivers license and good driving record required
Salary Range: The anticipated starting pay range for this position is based on the employee’s primary work location and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.
Location A:
Salary: $141,000 - $193,000
Location B:
Salary: $155,000 - $212,000
