Job Summary/Basic Functions

Substitute paraeducators will be called on an as-needed basis to fill in the duties of a regular paraeducator. A paraeducator works under the direction of certified educators to perform a variety of skilled instructional functions pertaining to specific student skill development of both special needs and non-identified pupils. Substitute paraeducators must meet job description requirements for paraeducators, including physical abilities such as standing, walking and lifting up to 40 pounds.
