The Texas Department of Transportation is on the search for a Maintenance Engineer based in Lufkin, Texas.
This position will work closely with the Director of Maintenance and the Area Engineers to maintain Lufkin Districts transportation system. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for management of the district's routine and emergency maintenance contracts, including writing, reviewing, and managing project changes. Additionally, this position will assist in budget development and maintenance. Description
Supervises personnel engaged in transportation engineering work in one or more functional areas such as planning, design, construction, transportation/traffic operations, maintenance and/or bridge inspection. Ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, policies, procedures, standards and guidelines. Work requires contact with governmental officials, private entities and/or contractors. Employees at this level are virtually self-supervising and assume direct accountability for the work product.
